Many women have done so.
Women like Cherie, a mother of 3:
|
I realized when I started the
exercise that I had found something I had been
looking for. I had very heavy periods, 7 days long
and was often tired, drained and feeling emotionally
unbalanced. I argued a lot with my partner and felt
depressed.
Within 2 weeks of doing the exercise
I had reduced my bleeding to 4 days and my energy
levels rose. I felt focused, clear, energetic and
really excited with my new found energy. At this
time I also had more clarity regarding the issues in
my life - I wasn't getting so caught up in them, I
was feeling connected to myself and my life and this
allowed me to take care of issues without all the
arguments and drama. |
And
Leanne, who is 33 and a Floor Manager with a large
retail chain:
|
I saw results in about 10 days which
was the time between beginning the exercise and my
next period. I had nowhere near the headaches I
usually did and my PMT was reduced to about a
quarter of what it would normally be. My moods were
usually so bad at this time I really felt
emotionally unbalanced, I began the exercise in the
hopes of getting some control back. Before the
exercise I would bleed for anything between 1-12
days which I have reduced to 4-5 days after 2
periods. Generally my moods have changed. They are
more even, I have more patience and I don't get
nearly as drained.
I have been in and out of hospital
with my problems and had been told that it was all
psychological. I came to the exercise with no real
expectations and have achieved far more than I ever
planned. As an added bonus, people have been
commenting on how good I look. I can see that my
skin has improved with all the broken capillaries
gone. I just want to say thank you. |
And also Sherie who is 24 and works as a housekeeper:
|
I began doing the exercise to give me
back my life. For one week out of every month I
didn’t have a life. I was always in trouble at work
for taking so much time off and I spent my life
going to see doctors. My periods would last from
7-10 days and I would be bed-ridden for a couple of
days on Ponstan. I had my period on the day I did
the workshop and I came out feeling better; my
period pains went.
Since then I have been doing the
exercise once a day and have regulated my period to
7 days with an even flow. I haven’t had to go to bed
or take pain killers. I have more energy and I feel
a lot better. Any woman who has awful periods should
do this. It has changed my life. I didn’t have a
life for that week each month and now I have no
worries. |
Hi, my
name is Lisa Bodley. More than likely, as you've found this web
site, then you too suffer from some of the more unpleasant
menstrual symptoms. If that's the
case, then you've come to the
right place. There is a simple, natural way of putting an end to
them, and I'm glad to be able to share it with you.
From the time of my first period, I suffered with the following
symptoms of PMS:
-
bloating
-
vagueness
and small accidents
-
feelings of
being disconnected with my body
-
skin
breakouts
-
sore breasts
-
memory loss
-
debilitating
pain that would put me in bed for at least a day
-
fatigue
-
eight days
of very heavy bleeding
-
and the
inevitable mood swings that turned my life and my
relationships upside down
What made things even worse was being told that all these
symptoms were "normal", that they were simply part of what it
was to be a woman and would possibly go away when I had a baby.
It seemed that menstrual problems had been around for so long
they had simply become the norm, and the less said about them
the better. There really wasn't anything you could do other than
find ways to "cope" with them.
Does this sound familiar? Has
this been said to you about PMS?
I've talked to so many women over the years who experienced the
same frustration I did at being told that a critical functioning
of their body, one that was central to themselves as women, was
not only going to be physically painful but would also cause
them severe mental and emotional stress once a month for the
next 40 or so years!
While I knew there had to be a solution, it took me 10 years
(and a trip around the world) to find it. And I couldn't believe
how simple it was. I actually began to look forward to my period
and the changes that were occurring. I felt, for the first time,
that I now had some say over what was happening to my body and
my self within it.
In
fact, within 4 months of starting the exercise, I HAD
COMPLETELY ELIMINATED ALL MY PREVIOUS PMS SYMPTOMS. Ten years of
problems, all built one upon the other, were gone.
-
The duration
of my period was cut in half.
-
It now only
lasted 4 days with a light flow of blood.
-
It passed
without any pain or hassle.
-
And I had
more energy than ever before.
QUITE SIMPLY, IT WAS THE MOST EMPOWERING
THING I HAD EVER DONE FOR MYSELF.
After a while, I began sharing it with other women - casually at
first, then as more women asked I developed it into a half-day
workshop. Finally, I put it all down in my book, "Recreating
Menstruation".
In the years that I have taught the exercise I have found that
many women with varying symptoms of PMS have benefited from it,
including those whose problems haven't been as severe or as
debilitating as others. This was the case with Val:
|
I heard about the exercise just over
3 years ago. At the time I saw it as something that
would only benefit women who had really bad period
pains and not someone like me who had a very
ordinary cycle that came and went without too much
of a drama for 4 days per month. At times I had a
bit of pain, or maybe that drawing down pain that
makes you want to sit down.
When I began the exercise, to my
extreme surprise, by the end of the month, my period
had reduced to 1 day. I was absolutely amazed at the
results. I couldn’t wait for the next month to see
what changes would occur. I was so excited about the
whole experience… |
One aspect of the exercise that many women comment on is the
speed at which it acts. They often see dramatic results between
the time they start the exercise and their next period, as Fiona
and Penny certainly did:
|
It was one week from beginning the
exercise to my next period and I had a feeling of
equilibrium. My period came and went without me
batting an eyelid. I have been doing the exercise
consistently once a day for the past 4 months. P.M.T
was my main problem and I am definitely feeling my
emotions are more even and balanced.
My period used to last anything up to
6 days, now it is normal for one day then light for
two days. If I have any breast soreness leading up
to my periods I do the massage and it relieves it. I
have been doing the stimulation massage and my
breasts have enlarged. I find it is absolutely
incredible that through your mind you can influence
your energy in such a profound way. I really feel
that all women should have this information
available to them so that they can make the choice
for themselves. |
|
I learned the exercise two weeks
before I got married and I saw results straight
away. I had a lot to do at this time and it really
helped me stay focused. My skin cleared up so I felt
great having a clear face for my wedding. I also
lost some weight. I was feeling far more connected
and much better about my body.
I wanted to learn the exercise
because of cramps and heavy periods and I was able
to reduce both of these. I am becoming more aware of
my body and the changes that are happening. |
What's also important to remember is that there is no symptom
that can't benefit from the exercise, regardless of how long you
have had it. This was certainly June's experience:
|
For 30 years my experience, each
month, of menstruation had been painful and
depressing. I’d tried most avenues to make my life a
little easier - the pill, tablets from the shelves
of chemist shops, homoeopathic remedies, Chinese
herbs, acupuncture and many courses run to
facilitate more understanding of the metaphysical
cause of my distress during those few days each
month. I’ve travelled far and learnt much about
myself as a woman, but still experienced painful
periods and other symptoms of endometriosis.
The exercise is working. For me it is
a slow but definite process. I have healing to do
and feel empowered to do it through this exercise.
Slowly, I have seen progress and I know that my
progress will continue. I believe it will be
something that I will continue indefinitely. I have
found it to be nurturing, healing and enjoyable. For
me it is self-empowerment that is providing me with
the strength to be a woman who can celebrate her
physical womanness through less pain and more
pleasure. |
As you've probably gathered from reading these stories, there
are many ways that you will benefit from doing the exercise
apart from just eliminating your PMS problems. While these
will be different for every woman who does it, over the years
the most obvious ones have been:
-
A general
improvement in your health.
I noticed this myself as I had previously used illness as a
way to get "time out". Contracting a cold or viruses was a
legitimate way of withdrawing from the world and looking
after myself. Doing the exercise gives me the opportunity to
check in with myself - I know where my energy is and I know
when I need to be a bit more gentle on myself for a day or
so. Now, I simply don't get sick as I have no need to.
-
An acute
awareness of the way your menstrual cycle operates.
And in particular,
the way your body responds to it. As Dianne says so
beautifully, "I am much more in tune with my body, very
aware of changes within. It tells me in very subtle ways
when I am due. And although the "symptoms" (which indicated
I was about to get my period) are no longer present, there
is a knowing in its place."
-
An increase
in your sexual energy.
You'll also become for more aware of it, as the exercise was
originally developed to stimulate female sexuality.
-
A firming of and, in some cases, an increase in the size of
your breasts.
As Megan commented, "Since the workshop I have been doing
the exercise fairly regularly and my periods are not much of
a hassle. I'm also proud to say that, within a few months, I
have gone up a bra size. I looked in the mirror one day and
thought, "Are these really my breasts?" (And if you have
large breasts or are happy with yours the way they are,
there is another way to do the exercise that won't enlarge
them.)
-
A strengthening of the pelvic floor.
This is particularly useful for those women who suffer from
incontinence, which is often the result of age or pregnancy.
-
A greater
sense of self-determination.
When you realize the influence you can have over what
happens within your body, that starts to spread out to the
other areas of your life.
-
A more youthful appearance.
As the energy that once drained monthly from your body is
used by it to replenish itself, so the effects of aging are
diminished (thus saving you a small fortune on anti-aging
creams).
YOUR QUESTIONS
There are sometimes questions that arise about the exercise
which, if unanswered, can prevent a woman from doing it even
though she would benefit greatly. While I am happy to answer any
questions you may have (my email address is at the bottom of the
page) perhaps we can take care of some of the most common ones
now:
Can I do the exercise when menstruating?
Yes. Not only can you do it but I would highly recommend that
you do, especially if you are experiencing pain. It will give
you immediate relief.
Can I do the exercise while breast feeding?
Yes. There have been women I have worked with who were breast
feeding when they began the exercise.
Can I do the exercise while pregnant?
No. The exercise can bring on premature labour.
Should I go off my medication now that I am doing
the exercise?
If your PMS has reached the point where you are receiving
medication, then you will need to consult your doctor before
either decreasing the dosage or going off it altogether. Inform
your doctor of what you are doing and discuss it with her - the
exercise will help the medication be more effective as it
strengthens the body.
If
I stop the exercise, will my old symptoms return?
This will vary with each individual. I would suggest that once
you have eliminated your PMS problems that you keep doing the
exercise for a while. This will ensure that your body has fully
adjusted and will maintain its new found balance.
I have Endometriosis, can the exercise help?
Yes. Over the years,
many women have come to me suffering from the symptoms of
Endometriosis and have been helped. Please read the testimonial
from Debbie at the bottom of the page.
What do I do with the kids?
A common problem with small children is that they want to be
part of everything you are doing, particularly if it takes your
attention away from them. You can usually take care of them,
though, if you persist with the explanation that this is your
time and you will be with them soon. If you are clear about what
you are doing and communicate this clearly to them, they will
soon understand its importance to you.
Can I do the exercise too much?
No. The only reason I have heard of women cutting back on doing
the exercise is that they couldn't contain all the energy they
were feeling. There are no adverse side effects that would
prevent you from doing the exercise as often as you wish. The
more you do it, the faster you will achieve the results.
|
I am still using the exercise and
would like you to know what it has done for me. In
December 1996 I began having Cysts which needed to
be drained. One was so big that it could be drained
with a syringe in the breast surgeon's rooms. Others
were too small and had to be drained by ultrasound.
Then, on top of that, in 1998 I had some
calcification in the right breast and had to have a
biopsy. Fortunately there was nothing malignant.
I kept doing the exercise throughout
all my personal difficulties. It always gave me the
strength to keep going. The mammogram I had done in
November 2000 was clear of any cysts and
calcification. The latest mammogram I had done in
January 2003 was also clear.
Another benefit I have had is the
great diminution of hot flushes, no more sweating in
bed at night! I did stop doing the exercise for
about 6 months in 2001 but began again on a daily
basis when the flushes started coming back. I
haven't had any for months. I love the connectedness
I get from bringing the energy back down to my
heart.
I have been lending your book to
friends and I spoke about the exercise to the lady
at the reception of the Mammography Unit in
Lilydale. She was very interested and wanted to know
if the book was still available. I then saw the
possibility that, if it was, a copy on the counters
of all the Mammography Units could change the world
of a whole lot of women. |
The lives of many women HAVE been changed by doing this
exercise, as yours could be. There is nothing complicated about
it and in "Recreating
Menstruation" there
are numerous illustrations and photos which explain clearly
every aspect of its practise. And if you have any questions,
you'll have my personal email address (and my promise to respond
to you within 24 hours).
When you click on the link, it will take you to PayPal's
secure transaction page where your payment of
$15.95
will be processed. When that is complete, click on the Return to
Merchant link - you will be brought back to another
page on our web site from where you can download the book
immediately (simple, with all instruction provided) and start
putting the exercise into practise.
After that, you have 60 days in which to read the book (about an
hour), practise the exercise and get results. In that time, if
you're not happy for any reason, please let me know and I'll
refund your money in full (and you get to keep the book).
The exercise works. But as Marcia, a 25 year old medical student
said, "I knew the exercise promised a lot and I couldn't know
what it would give me until I actually did it."
It's now your opportunity to find this out for yourself. And in
so doing, join all the women you have read about here (and all
the others we didn't have space to mention) who have used the
exercise to eliminate the PMS symptoms.
Yours in support

P.P.S. While many of the success stories I have shared with you
have been about the physical benefits of the exercise, they
really are secondary compared to the inner satisfaction women
feel at being able to heal themselves. I'll leave you with a
quote from Debbie, a 31 year old mental health nurse, who says
this far better than I could:
|
I initially came to the workshop
because a friend of mine was interested. I was
pretty sceptical about how it could work and was
more inquisitive than anything else; I wanted to
understand it. I have had
Endometriosis and suffered
a lot with my periods.
Since the workshop (10 weeks) I
haven’t had a period. It was weird getting used to
not menstruating, at first I wasn’t sure about it
and then I got used to it. Of course not having a
period means I haven’t had any symptoms either and
that has been great.
What this has done for me is reaffirm
my ability to work with my body and make a
difference. I am understanding the processes more
clearly and developing an intimate knowledge of my
body and myself. It is nice to know that what the
exercise promises can be done, that I am concrete
proof and that the internal knowledge I have of
myself is positive. |
